Why we did what we did
They say we should not feel,
But I thrill at your voice,
And despite this revelation,
I have no other choice.
I bear this heavy burden,
And although in my head
I know its right but in my heart
I know Id rather be dead.
You tell me that youd miss me,
But I dismiss it as a lie
For if I believed you meant it,
I know that I would cry.
Your bitter hurt burns through me
And I hate to pain that fiery man,
But these worlds galore need saving
And only my other can.
Your anguished eyes extinguished
The fire gone from your soul
And although our hearts beat no more
Inside there is a hole.
